We all know the impact landfill sites have on our environment and those that live within it. Legislation over recent years by taxing waste as it enters landfill has brought about the need to process waste to reduce this quantity going to landfill as much as possible, and to find new markets where recovered materials can be successfully recycled.

Our MRF facilities are essentially a sorting facility that allows Waste Processors to segregate different waste streams to recycle as much waste as possible.
Once sorted the waste items are saved for recovery or reprocessed in the most time and cost-efficient way possible allowing our clients to achieve the high rates in the industry for the recycling of mixed waste and reducing Landfill Tax as close to zero as possible.

Where it is required to further treat the Trommel Fines which are captured by the Trommel in order to meet Loss on Ignition targets, we would propose a Star Screen to first remove -10mm fines which are then regarded as a ‘clean’ product, and then pass the remaining oversize (10-40mm) product over an Air Classification unit which would successfully separate this material into saleable heavies and disposable lights.
Where there is a substantial amount of non-ferrous metals such as brass, aluminium and stainless steel, an Eddy Current Separator would be introduced into the system to recover these materials into a separate bay.
